Grace has learned to sign a couple dozen words or so, and the one she probably uses the most (besides eat, of course) is "book". To sign "book", you place your hands together and open them like a book, as our lovely spokesmodel demonstrates.
Usually, we'll read to her, but sometimes she just likes to go through the books and look at the pictures.
And she knows that some pages deserve more than just a look. Hey! There's a flower I would like to smell.
Of course, books are better when you have an accompanying snack, like this floor mat.
Reading is a lot of fun...
Requiring lots of focus...
And sometimes it just leads directly to a nap...
