Grace will turn three in March, and it's time to tackle that next step into toddlerhood.
Potty training.
We bought this starter toilet about a year and a half ago when Jenni read that some mom put her 10 month old on the potty each day until she got it.
Grace didn't get it...thinking it was another photo shoot prop.
For the past few weeks, we've put Grace on the toilet right before she gets into the bath and read her books about the potty.
It was education by theory but not put into practice.
So I had a new theory today. Let's put Grace on the potty right after dinner, when the tank is full and needs a little emptying.
First, a quick refresher course.
And today, for the first time, lots of cheering coming from a bathroom with two adults and a toddler looking over a green plastic toilet that held two new friends.
I know it's kinda gross to be so happy about poop, but it feels like Grace became a little more independent today.
Of course, we're no fools to think she's even close to being potty trained, but we're excited about this accomplishment. Hip Hip Pooray!

Another milestone in the 'Tales of Graceland.' Congratulations - more to come!!!

For quite some time, Kaelin, aka mother of three young men, called their bathrooms the Tinkle-Latories. I'm guessing the girl cleanup might be more straight forward, as there's less opportunity for the ol "left curve".
ReplyDeleteHooray for poop! and the Poopster!
