Grace's surgeries were a success and we are happy to have her home and resting.
Having experience in this hospital business, Dr. G got right to work.
Turns out Daddy's blood pressure reading made him a candidate for a shot. No tears, Daddy, this is small stuff compared to my day.
It was time to head back into pre-op. Time for a quick chat with her hospital bestie.
Then a change of wardrobe for all and the current Gracer smile.

A few tears from Mom and Dad, and our girl was off. The ear tubes were in within 15 minutes, and the eye surgery was finished about an hour after that. The docs both were very happy with the surgeries.
Then for the part that both warms and breaks our hearts….seeing Grace after.
She had a rough time coming off of the anesthesia this time around. Lots of thrashing, some IV pulling, blood-stained tears, refusal of all food and drink, and much discontent. Not our favorite five hours.
But once home, and in the arms of Grandma and Grandpa visiting from California, she started to get her pep back. And it wasn't long before she was belting out the songs again.
She's still a few days away from being 100%. That's what all those sharp instruments in the eyes and ears will do to you. But we're confident she'll be seeing and hearing things in a whole new way.

Sweet , sweet girl - so proud of you coming through another surgery on the upswing. Grandma R is the best and I know you will be having a wonderful time spending time with her. Be sure to show her what a great arm you have. Love you so so much. xoxoxoxo

DeleteHow is our Precious Amazing Gracie Grace? Been thinking of her and holding her up in prayer. Wish I was there to play with her. Glad that Grandma and Grandpa R are doing that job. Hope that everything was a success and I second Aunt Dee's prayer.
