The Mother of all Snubs

Words Grace vocalizes consistently:
Pouch ("pow"),  Bye Bye,  Baby ("baba"),  Greenpa,  Clean up,  Hi,  Sadie ("Ssss"),  Bath ("ba"), More, Eee I Eee I O,  Bib,  Up,  Down,  Open ("Oh"),  Ball, Higher (new addition from an oft read book about a girl on a swing)

Words Grace has attempted with at least a few clear repeats:
Bubble,  All done,  Hubba hubba (Seriously - Daddy taught this one),  Dada

Animal sounds Grace makes:
pant pant (her self-taught sound after meeting a few dogs),  meow,  moo,  baa baa,
squeak,  roar,  grr,  zzzz, oo oo ah ah, whoo whoo and nondescript high pitch sounds for elephant and horse

Words Grace signs:
Daddy, More, Eat, Drink, Sandwich, Cereal, Cracker, Milk, All done, Apple, Water
Outside, Swing, Flower, Rain, Please, Thank you, Play, Music, Again, Swim, Ball
Blue, Green, Yellow, Cow, Horse, Duck, Frog, Pig, Cat, Dog
Stop, Go, Wait, Baby, Bath, Wash hands, Book, Sleep
Sad, Cry, Head, Hat, Open, No, Help
Grace-created twinkle twinkle, 5-little monkeys and itsy-bitsy song requests

Words Grace does not say nor sign:
Mommy

In fact, she enjoys teasing me by acting as though she's going to say it and then switching to something else - often "papa".    When you ask her "Where's Mommy?", she even signs "Daddy".

It's a riot.  Really.

Here's the little Buster in action:

She sure is lucky she's cute.  Happy Mother's Day to my fellow mamas.

  2. Don't worry Jenni, as soon as Sadie says "mom"or Mommy", Grace will HAVE to say it too! That's just how sisters are! Happy Mother's Day to you! Was so happy to get to see (and be licked by Grace last weekend! She is adorable!

  4. Take heart. Liddy is a talker. Has been almost since the say she was born. After months of constant streams of dada, I finally started hearing mama. So exciting. Then it totally disappeared. The little heathen was even saying Daddy instead of dada, still without a peep about her mama. Then lo and behold, mama came....in droves. lol :)
    Gracer is getting soooo big!
