The weekend hasn't started off so great in Graceland.
Doctors are trying to figure out why Grace spent the night laboring in her breathing. The rhythms are right, but she's overworking with each breath. So they put the oxygen back in her nose. We also noticed she's getting a little puffy, which could mean a lot of things, but doctors think she's retaining fluids, with some in her lungs, which could be a reason for the heavy breathing (her diapers have been pretty dry overnight).
So they're starting up the lasix again intravenously instead of orally to try to help her pass some fluids...we'll see how that goes. It's such a balancing act because the diuretics could dry her out like last time, which led to a shortage of potassium.
They also plan to do an echocardiogram to make sure her ticker's looking good. Her numbers are all where they should be, but they don't want to miss anything. They also said they wouldn't hesitate to send her back to the ICU if she continues to look like she's struggling.
The good thing is that she ate well this morning and followed with a good wet diaper, so hopefully that will kick start her system again.
We hope you're not all prayed out...
Continued prayers coming your way.

ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? For Precious Gracie Grace, our prayers will just keep on coming. I don't ever want to let that wee one down or mommy and daddy either. Sorry to hear of some of the glitches, but thrilled that breakfast appealed to her. Just give her whatever she wants . . . eggs, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon (Oh sorry Jenni!) and yes, of course I am kidding. :) Remember that the doctors and nurses appear to be doing a fabulous job with Precious Grace, so please, please think about yourselves, too. California prayers continuing with no stops in between. We love that Precious Gracie Grace!

ReplyDeleteWhat do chest xrays show? Liddy suffered from a little pulmonary hypertension, which is what led to her lung collapse. They put her on Viagra (lol sedinophil) and she perked right up.
ReplyDeletePraying as always.
Praying for you all.
