Thankful

Thanksgiving is always a great holiday.  Good company, delicious food, a fire in the fireplace, and lots of football on TV.  This year, even better.  Another gal to bring to the table, and a better centerpiece to add:

Best decorated toilet paper roll ever!
The girls love to visit Grammy and Greenpa, even if that means being on the other side of the fantastic smells coming from beyond the "kitchen blockade".

Sades ate everything that came her way...including her first tastes of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and fruit salad.  Baby likes!!

Little Miss Picky was a bit more selective.  Apple and oranges from the fruit salad, and carrots.   And she left a lot of food on the ground for Sophie the dog to snag.

Grace also decided Thanksgiving would be a good time to get croup again.  So just after midnight, she woke up with very labored breathing.  We had a hard time getting her calmed down with the usual steam and cool air routine, so we called 911.

It took about three hours and a big dose of steroids to help open up her swollen throat, but we were able to get her back to Grammy's to rest.

And did we mention the steroids?

We finally got back home, and got reacquainted with some old friends.

And nothing makes a little sick girl feel better than a little cuddle time, a bean bag, and some binge TV watching.

Thankfully, everyone is feeling better!

  1. It looks like everyone enjoyed a great time at Grammy and Greenpa's on Thanksgiving. The food sounds great. Grace, I am sorry you got sick and hope you are feeling better - there is no place like home. Now you can start getting ready for another holiday - have fun decorating the Christmas tree.

  2. Oh Gracer - you redefined croup and not in a good way. We are all thankful you are on the other side of that! xoxoxoxo
