One of the great and unexpected perks of blogging has been reading the stories of many other families around the country dealing with some of the same issues and sharing in many of the same successes that we experience here in Graceland.
We have e-mailed back and forth with a few of these families, and even talked to some of them over the phone, but about a week ago, we got to meet one of our heroes in person.
This is Colin and his sister Kailey.
Colin is a sweet four year old with the charisma of a superstar. This kid wins every heart he meets, and it's not just because of his awesome fauxhawk. He's even one of the ambassadors for the New Jersey chapter of the Special Olympics! His sister Kailey was born just two weeks before Grace. She's a firecracker and a lot of fun. Since his family is only about an hour away from us, we packed up and headed south for some fun in the sun.
Being a big-time city girl, Grace went completely nuts for this awesome outdoor pool.
As the ever-gracious host, Colin and his family whipped up a grilled cheese sandwich for the Gracer (an instant friend-maker move).

Grace, I am so glad your Mommy and Daddy took a little ride and you were able to meet Colin, Kailey and their parents. It looks like you had so much fun with them. Playing in the water and eating a grilled cheese sandwich - two of your favorite things!
