Open Wide

Today Grace had her first dentist appointment.  We know, it's late in the game.  We figured we'd cut her a break.  Or maybe we were just postponing out of parental fear.

It was a good start.  A playful inviting waiting area stocked with some of Grace's favorite books.  She was on board right from the get go.

One of our concerns with Grace's teeth is that there are some gaps next to the central pair.  We keep checking for sprouting nubs, but nothing yet.

The doc assured us that she still has time to reveal them, and if not we will hope for adult versions to sprout.  In the meantime, Grace has perfected hiding the absent ivories by always smiling with her tongue out.

Grace did great at the appointment.  She let the dentist check her teeth, mostly because a Signing Times DVD was playing overhead.  And she enjoyed the clapping for her performance after.

She got to show off her teeth brushing skills by brushing Farley the dinosaur's teeth.

Music, books, DVDs, colorful stuffed extinct animals, clapping, and a treasure chest?  Can we come here every week?

  1. Grace, your dentist office looks like a playroom - you seemed to be having so much fun. My dentist office does not look like that. Keep on smiling....

  4. She is so cute! Vada is three and a half and has just pushed two more teeth through. I have heard and even read that kiddo's with Ds may be later to teeth. However, V is probably missing one of her baby teeth -she had a dental procedure done and they did Xrays. BTW, I LOVE the wall decals in the dentists office! Its super fun!
