The Whole Ball of Wax

Grace had a follow up with her ENT today.  The good news is that her tubes are still in.  Not only are they in, but they are held securely in place by a lot of wax, which is affecting her hearing.  Although it's doubtful that her hearing could be accurately tested with the state she worked herself into.  To say Grace did not enjoy the visit is an understatement.  She's not a big fan of things in her ears, which was the theme of this trip.

We've always known that Grace is a good communicator when it comes to telling us what she doesn't want or like, but her clarity has increased over this past week and was on full display at the doctor's office today.  I guess with puberty happening earlier and earlier these days, it makes sense that the Terrible Twos would follow suit.  She has shown her full temper complete with fist pounding and leg stomping.  I know what your thinking, not Sweet Little Pigtails.  And to that I reply, Oh Yes, Pigtails is full of the drama.  She certainly is in the right city!

We were sent on our way with instructions to do drops twice/day for the next 5 days, with a follow up hearing test in 4 weeks.  The doc said "2-3 drops" but during his demo filled up her ears until they were overflowing with hydrogen peroxide.  Again, not well received.  So now our evening routine consists of eye drops, saline nose spray, vitamins and ear drops.   Some liquid in every cranial orifice.

We decided to get a treat for having such a rough doctor's visit and introduced her to some Baby Mum Mum crackers, which she LOVED.  As you can tell from her first bite:

What?

Apparently her appetite is as big as her temper smile.
