A Grace Request

This is Violet:

As you can see, she is sassy and stylish. And on January 18, she had open heart surgery. Her heart repair is doing very well, but her recovery has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Sound familiar? If you recall, we talked a lot about the Open Heart Surgery coaster, and how at a certain point you are desperate for solid ground.

Sweet Violet's family is looking to get off the ride. And her ride looks all too familiar, but with even bigger hills. She had so much fluid in her lungs that she had to be put back on a ventilator the day after the surgery. Thankfully, she is now breathing well enough on her own that this hill is behind them. She is also having an odd reaction to drugs which is resulting in her being unable to rest thoroughly.

But worst of all? She hasn't completely opened her eyes. And because of this, her parents can't truly see how she's doing, and they don't feel the satisfaction of seeing that she understands what's going on and knows they are there. Of course, she does know they are there, and they are doing an amazing job of staying strong, hopeful and by her side. But they want to see her eyes. These eyes:

When we were on the rollercoaster, it meant so much to us to have comments from all of you, and from many who we didn't know at all. Would you please visit Violet's blog here and let them know they are not alone, and that you are pulling for Violet? Won't you please joint the Gracer in a prayer?

Thank you!
