Putting Her Through Hel...met

So we finally got Grace's new helmet this week. The problem with the first one...it didn't fit her right and the Buster could work her thumb up into it and pop it off.

The guy who's custom-building the helmet came by on Tuesday and put the helmet on her and played with her for about 30 minutes, making sure the fit was good. And it seemed like it was. The helmet stayed put as Grace moved all around. So we did as told, and left it on for the next 20 hours or so.

When Jenni took off the helmet Wednesday morning, she saw this...

Two big welts on the front of Grace's head! They were red and big, and squared off the front of her noggin. Not the shape adjustment we were looking for.

It's two days later, and the swelling has gone down quite a bit but not completely. The dots on her forehead are smaller, but darker, and will hopefully go away in the next few days.

To her credit, Grace has been great. Not complaining about any type of sensitivity to her head. That's why we were so surprised when we first saw the little horns.

Graceland is now on a helmet hiatus for the next few days. The only thing coming close to that sweet little head are lots of smooches.

  1. Oh dear! That doesn't look like it's gonna help. Wondering why they can't get the helmet right? Enjoy your freedom Grace!
