They might just be a few numbers for you, but when you're the parent of an almost one year old, they are absolute gold.
7:13 in the morning. Wake up time! For months, Grace's wake up time has been 6:30 at the very latest. But lately it's some time that begins with the number 5. We're usually too delirious to notice the exact digits.
We could have worked the Graceland schedule slowly a little later each night, but even the slightest alteration caused evenings of wild mood swings and fussiness. And it affected Grace, too.
But we knew a secret weapon was coming our way. A life-changing force that sweeps across the land in the cover of darkness. Daylight saving time!
As much as we would love Grace to know her numbers, this works to our advantage right now. Just move the clock forward an hour, and let Grace sleep like she always does. This morning was the first test, with great success. Seeing the second most beautiful thing in the world only to be trumped by seeing the most beautiful thing in the world.

Look at that amazing sitting! Go, Gracer, go!
ReplyDeleteGraceland looks like Toyland. We are counting the days until we get to play with you and all of your toys. Keep on smiling!
