We have new custom headwear in Graceland. She had her fitting 2 weeks ago, and it was a little less glamorous than she expected for her first piece of couture.
But she still enjoyed the attention...
Until they had to remove the cast
She quickly got over it and got excited as they took measurements for her second, still-to-come, custom piece. (The pectus carinatum brace) Note the early love handles. Yay heart! :)
So here it is, her first taste of haute couture:
At least they made room for her ponytail! This was ordered by her physical therapist to help her head grow more symmetrically, which will allow for more efficient movement and improved functioning overall. She will have to wear this for 23 hours/day, for 3 months. I kid you not. So far she's being a good sport about it. We'll see tomorrow when she has her first night's sleep with it.

Is it just me, or does this look a lot like lego hair?

Grace, It is not easy to look fabulous in such headwear but you totally rock it! I'm curious to see what the other brace will look like. Ben still has a tiny bump on his chest but it has decreased in size during the past 2 months.
ReplyDeleteSHE IS SO STINKIN' CUTE!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long till everyone will want to have one; my fashion forward diva Grace is such a trendsetter, and she looks fab in everything!

Love seeing babies in helmets because 1. it reminds me of my son, and 2. they are super effective!! I used a website called http://www.blingyourband.com/ They do costume decals in any type of design that you wish (we did surfer theme, tractors, cowboy - so very fun). Phil wore his helmet for 8 months and it saved him from many bumps and bruises along the way! Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to contact me kirsten131@hotmail.com
