Dorothy Was Right

For the first time in almost a month, the three of us are back home! Awww...familiar sheets!

When you're a parent taking your kid to the hospital, for any reason, this is the goal. Get the child home safely. So we're tucked away for the day, while it rains non-stop outside. And there's no place we'd rather be.

The ride home from Greenpa and Gramma's house went pretty smooth, considering it rained all the way. Grace slept most of the way, with her patented right eye open. Big Bird sleeps with both eyes open.

We were hoping to take a picture of the skyline as we headed into Manhattan, but it was so overcast, you wouldn't have seen much. But hey, here's the Lincoln tunnel.

And a blurry Welcome to Manhattan sign:

How's that for scenery? You won't find that in the tourist books.

Grace spent the afternoon getting reacquainted with her toys. There was lots of cooing to be heard, as she rotated through her swing, boppy chair, bouncy chair and play mat, just to hit all the familiar spots before calling it a night.

  3. Hooray for home! FINALLY! :) Hope you all sleep nice and snug in your own beds. There is absolutely nothing in this world better than cuddling up in your own bed after a couple of weeks of sleeping in the hospital (or trying to) or in someone else's bed!
    Sweet dreams!!!!

  4. All three of you have had a lot of 'homes away from home' over the last month. "There's no place like your home!" We all feel that way. I am so glad you can finally get back in your routine. I know all of you will rest better. Love to all of you - will continue to pray for each day to get better! xoxoxoxo

  6. Oh Amazing Precious Grace, Darren, and Jenni, can't you just see how you ran the race and you ran it so well? You are all our champions! Your cheering section has rooted you on and this finish line is behind you. You had the most amazing coach possible. Now all of you just take a big ahhhhhhhhh, kick off your shoes, and relax beyond belief in your own surroundings. "Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home."

I just must be getting too sentimental . . . here come those tears of joy and happiness all for you three and Big Bird, too!

you all are home, safe and sound. What you all, especially sweet Grace went thru this past month made you all stronger in body and soul and love. Continued prayers and positive thoughts are for you. And, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy each other and being home. Love, Shannon
