We are headed home again, home again! Grace had 2 days of her video EEG monitoring, and all looks normal. She did not have any of the specific spasms that had created the concern in the first place while she was hooked up to the EEG, but the doctors feel pretty good that she is not showing signs of epilepsy. The particular form of epilepsy they were concerned about was infantile spasms, based on the video we took of Grace, her age and her cardiac surgery history. When kids have these spasms, their EEG looks abnormal even in between episodes. So while they can't tell us with 100% certainty that she does not have any seizure disorder, they feel the risk is very low. We will follow up with the neurologist in 6 weeks, and if there are still concerns he will order a repeat EEG.
We're celebrating this as very good news! Now to get this glue out of her hair....
