We're Off To See The Wizard

We've already seen the wizard for a better heart.

Tomorrow, we're heading back to the hospital to look at the brain. Remember this?

This was the video EEG that Grace had a week after her heart surgery, when she showed some visual signs of facial ticks. That test came back negative but there have been a couple of episodes of similar ticks and different spasm-like movements since we've been home that we were concerned about and wanted to get them checked out. The neurologist said that the only way to rule out any epileptic episodes is to do another video EEG and this time they want to take a 24-72 hour look at all the synapses up their in her cute head. He said that the things we'd seen (which we videotaped for the doc) could be seizures but could also be other less serious - even normal - things.

So tomorrow we begin the test. Mom, and more importantly Big Bird, will be right by Grace's side the entire step of the way, and will make sure to bring along some of the favorite Graceland toys, so after the initial process, where they plaster 26 electrodes to her head, it should be a relatively painless stay.

And we know we don't need to see the wizard for courage. Grace was blessed with oodles of it.

But no one wants to be in the hospital. Yes, there's no place like home.

  4. I know you will keep us posted, thankfully. We are with you every step... So glad you and Darren are blessed with the courage as well- maybe you're borrowing some of Grace's to get through, since she has "oodles". God bless you three! Grace, I will find some fabulous hair accessories for you to wear after they finish with your little crown of cutie pie locks. We love you!

  5. Tiny airplane looking suspiciously like a Love bomber flying an advance sortie of the hospital room.

Flipping a few showy acrobatic manoeuvres just for the Gracer before flying out the window...
