Six Hour Celebration

The milestones of infants have been well documented. Rolling, talking, sitting, walking.

But equally important, perhaps, are the milestones reached by parents. First diaper change, holding your baby for her shots, leaving the baby with a sitter for the first time.

And mommy passed a big milestone last night.

She slept for six hours straight without waking up for the first time since Grace was born. That's more than seven months of continued interrupted sleep. Just waiting for that next cry.  Alarms going off to signal it's time to pump.    Body parts aching to deliver more milk. But not last night. Just dark, silents zzzzzzzz's.

Just how good was it? During her continued slumber, Jenni dreamed about playing catch with Yankees' Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano. Now you know she's feeling the adrenaline of a good night's sleep.

When Grace heard the news, and readily accepted all the praise of delivering such a memorable night, she thought she'd sneak into mommy's bed and give it a try.

(With mom this happy, maybe there IS something to this well-rested thing.)

  2. Grace you also look rested, you are a cutie pie and you now should have a good idea what it takes for mommy to have a good nights rest, so keep up the restful good nights. I love the progress you both have made.... You know us girls need our beauty sleep....so just continue to count the sheep and sleep. xoxo k&J

  3. Mama Jenni was dreaming about playing catch with 2 Yankees? I had that dream of her (or Molly or Rob) playing catch with their mom and dad since the day she was born. Surely, one of our kids would be a ball player I thought as did Greenpa. I remember a celebration when she was in 9th grade when she got a hit in gym class. Proud times. She chose dance and music instead. But she dreams about playing catch....that's a start. Gracer, no pressure, but I'm counting on you. xoxo
